Cards & Layouts

I had a really good time on Saturday night hanging out with Mum and some of the girls at Scrapnscrap. There weren't many of us, only 5 in fact! But we had a lovely time having a whole table each, a yummy bbq dinner and the ever so delish chocolate fondue! Yes girls, at these crops my diet goes out the door! Maybe that's why I went for an hour and a half walk last night???

Anyway, below are a couple of cards I made using Jo's scrap pieces of paper. I just love them! Very simple but cute nonetheless!

Normally I find it very hard to work with sketches but for some reason I felt quite relaxed and at ease playing around with them on Saturday. Perhaps I was just looking for something simple but something that suited my style. . .hmm, not really sure if I have one actually! But they felt just right on the night!

And I have to say I was quite pleased with myself that I finally got to use some of the MayaRoad felt shapes that I recieved in my Masters prize pack!

Below is my first layout for the crop. I'm not enitrely sure it's what I wanted but I was kinda just get warmed up.
Now this is one of my layouts. . .and I have to say I am really quite happy with it. It was about this time in the night that Mum had a go at me for never using any bling and I replied by telling her she sneezes all over her layouts with the stuff! But once again I found myself using sheet music. . .I just love the stuff! Oh and let's not forget that ever so yummy new Cosmo Papers I picked up at Daisies! And I finally managed to get rid of some of those off cuts that have been floating around my stash. Oh.oh.oh....And also I played around with some chippie from A2Z, my birdie is just too cute!

This next layout is from a sketch also but I can't for the life of me remember where the sketch came from, if you recognise it please let me know. Oh and a big thankyou to Jo for sharing her super cool paper with me! I love the trees!

Well that's it from me until next time! Well at least till the next kick up the butt I get from Miss Lisa!
cheers,

Some layout goodness!!!

So here you have it! This is the layout that I taught at the Daisy Chain Retreat this month. I can't begin to tell you how good it is at these retreats! And it was made all the more exciting for me to have been asked to teach the class on Friday night. I was lucky enough to play with the new BG Sugar Rush range and had heaps of fun creating it. Along with the papers I created a felt tree and a little denim birdie. . . totally cute!
It's no secret I am a new paper driven scrapper! Although they probably aren't new out they are new to me. . . October Afternoon! I just love it! There is something so warm about there papers that you just want to roll yourself up in it. . . all snuggly buggly as my little Becca woud say.
Okay so here's something a little brighter! This is also one of the new Cosmo Cricket ranges. I kind of wanted this page to be a little simpler so you really looked at the pics.

This next layout I used some Sassafras papers from last year. I kept it simple by using the sewing machine to create a button tree. I just love useing the machine on my layouts, there's just something therapeutic about it.

And yes girls I do do doubles! If I can't get my hands on some new papers the next best thing is new pics. I snapped these pics of Bec when we were at the gardens the weekend earlier. but given that I could get my hot little hands on what seemed to be an endless supply of new papers and pics I was on fire! Once again I played with some new Cosmo.

I also had fun playing swith some of the ChelleyBean punched butterflys and some of my handmade denim flowers. I really like the way this layout came together.

So that's it for this post. I'll be sure to update soon.
Cheers,
Toni

Some Card Creations from the Retreat!

After seeing the beautiful cards that some to the girls made at last years retreat I made a decision that I would devote some retreat time to making some to! I'll be the first to admit that I'm a little like a fish out of water with but rather than sit there trying to think of some creative card goodness my dear friend Lisa and I searched 2Peas and found some cards to lift! I don't normally copy other peoples work as I find that hard to do but found it quite relaxing to make these. . . just don't ask me to copy someone elses scrapping page. . . nope I just can't do it!

Seeing as Barbi got some of the new CHA Cosmo ranges in I just had to play with them! They are simply divine!
And lastly, after being inspired by ChelleyBean Designs birdies I just had to make some of my own and some other little pieces of felty goodness! There's nothing quite like playing with some felt to get the creativiety flowing.
Well that's it for my cards but I can promise you I will be creating loads more very soon.
Thanks for stopping by in my neck of the woods!
Cheers,
Toni

My new View!!!

I'm so excited to be able to share with you what will be my new view! Well hopefully from May onwards!
Late last year Stephen and I decided that we needed a change for our family and came across this wonderful parcel of land which looks like its in the country but is in actual fact only 1 minute (litterally) out of Rocky. It's just over 1800 squares and is a slightly elivated block with just about no direct neighbours. Just what we wanted! Now we just have to wait for the rain to stop so the builder can lay the slab and get down to the job of putting the walls up. I promise to update as things progress.

Toni

A big HI-DEE-HOO!!!

Okay so yes I have been completely deglectful of my blog! I'll admit it! But after much kicking up the butt I am returning and WILL work harder in maintaining it.

So life's been hecitic. . . I've finished Masters, finished renovating, designed a new home for my lovely brood, bought a beautiful block of land, moved into 2 caravans at my parents and am awaiting the building of our they home. I CAN'T WAIT!!! So needless to say blogging and scrapping took a backseat. Until now that is!

And now that I have become a lady of leasure with Becca starting Prep this year I'm even more pumped about the time I have to create, learn and build on myself.

I'm also totally pumped to tell you that I have been invited to teach again at Daisy Chain Scrapbooks in Nambour. I just love the retreats there as the girls are all so lovely. My mojo has been energised from a crop I attended on the weekend and I had the chance to create my class layout for the retreat. So below is a sneak peek!

I used the Basic Grey "Sugar Rush" range, which I'll admit, I wasn't too sure of. But I have to say that now I have used it I love it! I'm hoping the girls at Daisy's will love it just as much as I do.

Well that's it for now. . . but I promise to be back very soon.

Cheers,

Scrap Within Reach papers!

Aside from having a great time at Daisy Chain I had the opportunity to do a class with Angela Peardon from Addicted 2 Craft. In addition to the class we were given the new Carnival Ride range of papers from Scrap Within Reach. Let me tell you IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! I love this photo of Isaac and was thrilled at how well my layout turned out!
I can't believe Isaac goes to High School next year! He is growing so quickly but has and always will be my little softy with a smile that melts my heart.

Adam and Rebecca have really got a connection. They can be the best of friends one minute and the worst of enemies the next. But it never takes long for bridges to be mended.
Thanks Angela for giving us this latest release, never used in Australia before Carnival Ride papers. They are my new favourite!
Thanks for visiting!
Cheers,
Toni

I love NEW PICS!!!

Last week I was thinking about what I would take to the retreat and I knew I needed new photos to get my mojo going. Fortunately for me Isaac and Adam provided some great action shots! So with the help of Janelle's thong (the one on her foot!) I painted and stamped with the thong as well as a Heidi Swapp demask stamp and yellow paint splashes, for a grunge look.
I picked up the large title rub-on from the recent paper expo and just love how well it suits the look.

The chipboard cogs are from ScrapMatts which I also bought at the Expo.
The boys loved their layout and both debating on who's album it goes into. Hmm I'm thinking it'll go into the family album!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,
Toni
